DAVID GRAY HIT HAS SOLDIERS IN MIND
David Gray recently renounced his dominance of the Number One spot with the song “The One I Love.” While Death Cab For Cutie now holds the top spot, Gray’s song has made inroads and definitely tugs at the heartstrings. |
The song, an ode to one’s life love, was initially written by Gray after a sad scenario of war played out in his mind. Gray talked about the initial inspiration behind the song. |
“Well, it… The idea of the song is someone, a soldier, or someone on the field of battle somewhere in an unknonwn time and place being hit and lying there with a flood of images going through their mind. That’s sort of how I imaginged the song as I began to write it. It’s as simple as that, really.” |
Gray’s “The One I Love” has now graduated to the Hot AC chart where he’s starting at the bottom, but moving upwards. Gray’s new album, Life In Slow Motion, sat atop the British charts upon its release, and he’s currently lined up to play his new single, “Hospital Food,” on the famed U.K. show, Top Of The Pops. |
