TED NUGENT ASSAILED FOR ANTI-SEMITIC POSTS https://artisannews.com/ted-nugent-assailed-for-anti-semitic-posts/ Thu, 11 Feb 2016 01:40:34 +0000 http://www.new.artisannews.com/?p=21789 Ted_Nugent_Jews_Guns

Ted Nugent has been assailed by Jewish groups for a post he made to his Facebook page stating that Jews in political office are responsible for spearheading gun control laws that are aiming to take his guns away. In the picture he profiles 12 Jews in office and wrote in his caption: “Know these punks. They hate freedom, they hate good over evil, they would deny us the basic human right to self defense & to KEEP & BEAR ARMS while many of them have tax paid hired ARMED security! Know them well. Tell every1 you know how evil they are. Let us raise maximum hell to shut them down!”

There was no mention of any other politicians from other religious groups that needed to be “shut down. ”

In following post Ted tried to clarify the narrative saying that he couldn’t believe that after the Holocaust the Jews in office would prevent people from defending themselves: “Just when you hope that mankind couldn’t possibly get any dumber or more dishonest, superFreaks rise to the occasion. What sort of racist prejudiced POS could possibly not know that Jews for guncontrol are nazis in disguise? “NEVER AGAIN!” Anyone? Anyone?? RUFKM! The founder of Jews For the Preservation of Firearms Ownership called me his 2nd Amendment/Freedom hero. The NEVER AGAIN battlecry was universally embraced by all good people who will make sure another Holocaust never happens again. Freaks have plummeted to whole new low.”

In a previous interview Ted told Artisan News that part of the reason he wrote his hit song “Stranglehold” is to prevent people from sheep mentality, which he said is the same mentality that many Jews had when a majority of them wouldn’t fight as they were herded into the concentration camps — a fact that appalled him.

The upshot and danger is that Anti Semitic and White Supremacist groups have embraced rhetoric communicated by the photo that the Jewish leaders are the cause of the anti gun movement. Ted who is a member of the board for the NRA, National Rifle Association, is being pressured by many in the group to step down amidst the comments and expressions that have gone over the line.

Ted is no stranger to controversy as his controversial comments have been aimed at Hillary Clinton, Barrack Obama, Trayvon Martin, and the Supreme Court among others.

THE EAGLES GET GRAMMY MOMENT FOR GLENN FREY FEATURING REMAINING MEMBERS https://artisannews.com/the-eagles-get-grammy-moment-for-glenn-frey-featuring-remaining-members/ Wed, 10 Feb 2016 21:27:21 +0000 http://www.new.artisannews.com/?p=21785 This Monday night’s Grammy Awards, February 15, has added a very special performance by the remaining members of The Eagles after the death earlier this year of co-founding member Glenn Frey. Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Timothy B. Schmit, and Joe Walsh will be playing a tribute to Glenn with Jackson Browne, a collaborator for the band, filling in for the late Frey.

The Eagles have had many member changes with some surviving members not taking part in the tribute including Randy Meisner and Don Felder, who came up with the idea for perhaps The Eagles biggest hit, “Hotel California.”

Schmit was the last member to join the band in 1977, replacing Meisner, and in a previous interview he talked with Artisan News about joining the band.

Timothy also sang “Love Will Keep Us Alive,” one of the biggest hits of their 2007 comeback album Long Road Out Of Eden, and he also sang the Adult Contemporary classic “I Can’t Tell You Why” from 1979’s The Long Run.

Glenn Frey died in January 2016 from complications from Colitis surgery and pneumonia.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH TO HIT THE ROAD WITH SHINEDOWN https://artisannews.com/five-finger-death-punch-to-hit-the-road-with-shinedown/ Wed, 03 Feb 2016 19:09:13 +0000 http://www.new.artisannews.com/?p=21773 SHINEDOWN TALKS APPROACH TO CARNIVAL OF MADNESS, STARTING TOMORROWFive_Finger_Death_Punch_photo

Even though they have distinctively different sounds, Five Finger Death Punch and Shinedown are set to hit the road this spring. Both bands will end up on several festivals including Rock On The Range, Rocklahoma, and Rock’NDerby. Five Finger Death Punch is out supporting its latest album Got Your Six. The dates actually kick off in Fort Myers as part of the Fort Rock Festival on April 30. National pre-sales start tomorrow, Thursday, February 4, but there are local on-sales that start today.

Five Finger Death Punch just released their latest single and video “Wash It All Away”, the band’s second from Got Your Six.  It quickly climbed the Active Rock radio charts and recently went Number One. The live performance music video for “Wash It All Away” was shot by iconic music video director Wayne Isham.

Meanwhile Shinedown singer Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers recently went on the Smith & Myers acoustic tour playing their favorite Shinedown songs and cover songs. They will actually have some dates before their time with Five Finger Death Punch starting March 1 with most dates having the Virginmarys as openers.

Zack told Artisan News that going out with just his singer did not create any friction with their Shinedown bandmates.

Five Finger Death Punch also recently received the prestigious “Soldier Appreciation Award” From The Association of the United States Army. The award was founded in 1950 by the then newly founded AUSA. This was based on having Germany and Europe stationed US troops that had a hard standing in the public. The soldiers had been under hard pressure and so the AUSA founded the Award to honor the organizations and/or people who supported the troops to make their daily life more easy and comfortable.

Guitarist Zoltan Bathory  stated: “The Soldiers Appreciation Award is something very special. The only musician ever to receive this was Elvis Presley. Clearly what we have to say resonates with a lot of veterans and a lot of service members. To know that we are reaching people and touching their lives with our music is very rewarding,  and to me this really is the sole purpose of being a musician — to be able to make a positive impact in somebody’s life.”

PHIL ANSELMO APOLOGY FOR RACIST ACTIONS, ANTHRAX SCOTT IAN SAYS BEHAVIOR “VILE” https://artisannews.com/phil-anselmo-apology-for-racist-actions-anthrax-scott-ian-says-behavior-vile/ Tue, 02 Feb 2016 15:03:37 +0000 http://www.new.artisannews.com/?p=21768
That was Phil Anselmo issuing an apology for racist remarks and actions he made after a performance at Dimebash, a metal star studded concert honoring the memory of his bandmate in Pantera, Dimebag Darrell, who was brutally murdered onstage over a decade ago. His Nazi salute and screams of “White Power” were not easy to miss and a firestorm brewed in the metal community when videos of his behavior appeared online.

Anselmo said that he’s not a racist in his YouTube apology.

Scott Ian of Anthrax, a Jew, who Anselmo idolized as a youth, had a scalding take on Phil’s actions. In a statement on his website, scott-ian.com he said: “Friends, Hate speech. Racism. Inflammatory rhetoric. All dangerous no matter what the context. I have ZERO TOLERANCE for any of this and to not speak out against them is as dangerous as the acts themselves. Philip’s actions were vile and that should be the focus here, anything else is just noise. Philip has apologized and I would like to offer him the opportunity to really show how much he loves everyone by making a donation to the Simon Wiesenthal Center.”

The Simon Wiesenthal center is dedicated to fighting anti-semitism and holocaust deniers while at the same time defending the safety of Jews worldwide.
