BLACKALICIOUS RECORDS WITH GEORGE CLINTON

Gift of Gab and Chief Xcel will release a new Blackalicious album titled, The Craft, next week. The duo is presently touring in support of the set which they believe is their best album-to-date. The project includes collaborations with Floetry, Ledisi, Lateef, Lyrics Born, Life Savas, Pigeon John, Kween, and Larry Saunders.

The album also features a guest appearance by the legendary George Clinton. Gift of Gab explained how it all went down. He said,

“I mean that was just you know like the heavens opening up. You know like what are the odds? We was fortunate enough that somebody from our camp knew somebody from his camp and he was willing to do it. He was in town for that day and he was willing to do it. You know that was just one of the things for us where you know the universe just fell into place. It was cool. It was definitely watching a master at work. You know just the way that he put his vocals down. He laid down about ten different vocal tracks.
