ZAKK WYLDE ON HELP FATHER, OZZY OSBOURNE, WITH NEW
Zakk Wylde likens Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne to his parents, and he says he’s like their grown son who protects them. |
Zakk Wylde is helping Ozzy Osbourne piece together a new studio album, and he’ll be by Ozzy’s side for a planned tour in April. Wylde allegedly cut short his tour to help Osbourne put the finishing touches on the album, which Wylde is helping to co-write. |
Wylde said that he wouldn’t think of asking for greater recognition as Ozzy’s writing partner or play hardball when it comes to the prince of darkness or financial compensation. |
“I don’t like Ozzy, I love him — beyond forever, unconditional. He can do anything, and I’ll always be there for him. It’s not about the money. It has nothing to do with anything. There is no lawyers, there is no managers there’s nothing to deal with anything. Sharon goes, ‘We only got a hundred bucks on the table all that we can give Zakk is ten dollars because we have to pay for the trucks the this the that, is he in or is he out?’ I’m always in. I worship the ground he walks on, bro. He’s the man. He’s got the biggest heart of gold. He’s the greatest. Him and my Dad are the greatest guys ever.” |
Wylde added that Ozzy and Sharon are like his parents. |
“But you know with Ozz I know what my job is there. Sharon and Ozz are like my mom and dad. If you go there, you go home, you don’t put your feet up on the furniture, you bring the garbage out, you do what you’re told and that’s just the way it goes. But now that I’m older I go like, ‘Mom, Dad, maybe we can try this or that.’ You know what I’m saying? My job is to take care of them because I’m their son. That’s the way it goes. I love that role because that’s what Black Label is all about. It’s family, man.” |
Osbourne is rumored to be releasing a second album in the spring. Album number two will be a companion album to a Broadway-type musical. Meanwhile, Zakk will return to the road to play a few make-up dates in the U.K. starting February 4 in Newcastle. |
