ZACH BRAFF FINDS THE LAUGHS
For Zach Braff to be interested in a film, it’s all about what makes him laugh. |
Zach Braff decided to make The Ex simply because the script made him laugh so he spent the summer working with comedic actors including Saturday Night Live player Fred Armisen, Charles Grodin, and Arrested Development star Jason Bateman. |
Zach describes what it was like going toe to toe with his wheelchair bound boss in the film. |
“Well it’s great working with Jason Bateman. He’s very smart and very quick. A lot of times I feel like I’m just playing a straight man with him because he’s so bizarre with his Ascot and his bowties. He plays it so seriously that I’m really the audience, the audience’s point of view looking at, ‘you’re a crazy person. Jason in the locker room where he’s rolling around naked is pretty funny.” |
Zach says The Ex doesn’t have any heavy messages. It’s all about the laughs. |
“I think it’s really just a good time. It’s a fun comedy that guys will really like because it’s me vs. Jason Bateman in a war and women will like it because it’s relatable in terms of having a baby and settling down.” |
Next Zach gets a little more serious writing, directing and starring in the romantic drama Open Hearts. |
