ZAC EFRON FLOORED BY JOHN TRAVOLTA

Zac Efron was intimidated acting opposite his musical idol.

High School Musical star Zac Efron was nine years old when John Travolta starred in Grease and Saturday Night Fever so when the time came to act opposite his musical idol he was definitely intimidated.

Zac says he couldn’t contain his awe of the legendary music man.

“I think the hardest scene to film for me was John. It’s purely because I was still starstruck during the scene and I couldn’t help it. I was acting with one of my idols right there. Yeah I look back on that and I’m proud I got through it because I was just shakin’ in my boots to have a scene with him.”

Zac who performs the film’s signature song You Can’t Stop The Beat with John, Nikki Blonsky, Amanda Bynes, Elijah Kelly and Queen Latifah is a big fan of musicals.

“When I watch a musical I have an amazing sense of joy when I’m finished with it. It’s almost a cross between disappointment that the movie’s over and just excitement of what I’ve just seen. I think it’s unique to musicals so I hope that Hairspray can give people that feeling.”

Hairspray is currently playing in theaters.
