Chicago-based rapper Yung Berg recently completed a stint on the Screamfest tour with T.I., Ciara, T-Pain, Lloyd, and Yung Joc. The rapper is now turning his attention to promoting his Almost Famous: Sexy Lady EP and his forthcoming full-length album, Look What You Made Me, which is scheduled to hit stores on October 23rd. The latest single from the project is “Sexy Lady (Remix)” featuring Jim Jones and Rich Boy. |
Yung Berg began his career as an understudy to DMX and was initially signed to the rapper’s Bloodline label. After failing to release any product under the Bloodline deal except for an appearance on the Exit Wounds soundtrack, Yung Berg struck out on his own in 2004. |
“Actually I got my own label deal through Sony, Epic, and Koch. Sony Urban folded so Koch they came and got them. It’s like an incubator company or what they call it. They do all my urban marketing and promotion. So I got my own label deal. I’m twenty-one years young, just rapping you know.” |
In 2005, he landed a gig as a hype man for Distrubing Tha Peace rapper Shawnna and later landed a solo deal with Epic Records. He has since launched his own label and has a very unique deal with Koch Records. Yung Berg explained, |
