Rapper Young City, formerly of the Bad Boy’s Da Band, had been working on his solo debut, New Jack City, which was suppose to be released last month. Unfortunately the set has been shelved indefinitely and the rapper and Bad Boy Records have severed ties. According to a source close to the label, Young City was becoming too much of a problem for Bad Boy Records. |
The rapper explained that it’s been a severe learning curve since starting his career. He said, |
“I really didn’t know like nothing coming in the game you dig? I learned a lot you heard me? I’m eighteen years old, you heard me, so I really didn’t know nothing. I thought it was just go in here, you rap. Then after you rap, you do the show. You do the videos, you know, f**k with the hoes, you heard me, all that there.” |
Fellow Da Band members Babs and E. Ness are still signed to Bad Boy Records and working on solo set. |
Da Band released their gold certified debut album, Too Hot For TV, in 2003. |
