YOUNG BUCK GETS PROBATION
G-Unit rapper Young Buck was sentenced to three years probation, 80 hours of community service, and a $200 fine for his involvement in the fight that broke out during last year’s Vibe Awards after Jimmy James Johnson sucker punched Dr. Dre. Video footage that appeared to depict Young Buck swinging a knife at Johnson apparently revealed that the rapper was holding a fork. DNA evidence further exonerated the rapper as the DNA from Johnson’s stab wounds didn’t match the rapper. Young Buck, who was out on $500,000 bail, said, “I’m glad to get the situation over with so I can get right back out here and make good music. Look out for my new album, it’s gonna be in stores summertime of ’06, Bad Influence, and you can hear all about the situation. G-Unit!” |
The rapper plead no contest to assault with a chance to produce bodily harm and the more serious charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dismissed. |
Young Buck has another court date next month in New York City. The rapper is facing weapons possession charges after police discovered two handguns in a van he was traveling in after performing at the Anger Management 3 tour at Madison Square Garden in August. |
