Xavier Rudd, one of the worlds most innovative and inspirational musicians has released his latest album, titled ‘Solace’ and the follow up to 2002’s ‘To Let’ once again demonstrates Xavier’s amazing multi instrumental gift of songwriting and story telling. ‘Solace’ has been certified platinum in Australia and after a June US release by Universal Records, Rudd is well on his way to reaching those figures in America. After playing Bonnaroo the last two years he has become the top selling artist in terms of onsite CD sales at America’s biggest grass roots festival and with subsequent shows with Gov’t Mule, Jack Johnson and Ani Difranco, Xavier Rudd is building an enormous following worldwide. “It was really neat to come to the states and play the last couple of years. It’s been a real education and it’s been amazing. People over here are so beautiful and so warm and welcoming. I feel sorry for people in a lot of ways. You know there’s a lot of pressure being a super power and the government and the media and there’s a lot of pressure on the general public of the country. Coming over here and being at peace celebrations and music festivals and gatherings where people were celebrating the special parts of the western world and the special parts that we have here.
