WU TANG CLAN TO TOUR IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM
Wu-Tang Clan moving forward with album and tour plans despite internal strife. |
The Wu-Tang Clan will release their new album, 8 Diagrams, on December 11th despite a lot of internal strife between group members and RZA. Group member Raekwon told New York’s WQHT-FM that he felt he was being taken advantage of and that he’d like to do a Wu-Tang Clan album without RZA in the future. The rapper said, “A lot of times there may be a deal where we never get a chase to see the paper work. We like, ‘Hold up, what’s going on? Deliver that paperwork. Let me agree to disagree,’ whatever. And it seems like mother****ers be like, ‘You don’t need to see nothing.'” |
Despite their beefs, the Wu-Tang Clan will be touring in support of The 8 Diagrams. The tour begins on December 15th in Chicago and wrpas on January 26th in St. Petersburg, Florida. |
“What I like about this film in particular is the people who they chose to represent are not just your average hip hop artist. It’s not just, ‘Oh let’s go get this most popular guy, this most popular guy.’ They got guys who could hold their parts and hold it whether we was a hip hop artist or not, you know what I mean? I like to take the word off hip hop sometime and say they went and got some artists, you know what I mean, from the hip hop field. We came in and we represented. We represented well and I’m glad that we did whether we was a hip hop artist or not.” |
While RZA may be on the outs with some of his group members, he’s riding high because of the success of the new movie, American Gangster. RZA, Common, T.I., and Denzel Washington star in the movie which has grossed over $100 million in theaters. |
