The Wu Tang Clan may not be releasing a group album any time soon but the members are definitely keeping busy. Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Method Man are all scheduled to release solo albums over the next couple of months. The GZA, who just dropped a joint project with DJ Muggs, and RZA will also be heading into the studio to record with System Of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian. The bassist originally hooked up with the Clan when they recorded a remix of the Wu-Tang Clan’s “Shame” with producer Rick Rubin in 1999. |
RZA explained how it all came together. He said, |
“System Of a Down, My man Shavo had came through. He played on a few of the tracks that we been recording over the summer. After recording a few songs with us, he caught an inspiration to do a whole album with the GZA. He loves the GZA. Yo I think the GZA is one of his favorite MCs. They just got along real well and now we have a project that we slated to work and maybe have out by next summer. It’ll be something very unique, very different, so watch out for that.” |
