WOLFMOTHER, SNOW PATROL SPEARHEAD SPIDER-MAN 3 SOUNDTRACK
Snow Patrol, Wolfmother, The Flaming Lips, The Walkmen and The Killers all contribute music to the third installment of Spider-man. |
In what promises to be a summer blockbuster hit, Spider-man 3 has put together an equally anticipated soundtrack which features music from Snow Patrol, Wolfmother, The Flaming Lips, Jet, Cubby Checker, The Walkmen and The Killers. While many fans of Wolfmother are eagerly awaiting the sophomore release to the band’s critically acclaimed self titled debut, the only place to find new music from Aussie trio at this moment will be the song ‘Pleased to Meet You’ from The Spider-man 3 soundtrack. |
We caught up with Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother recently to discuss hearing the song in his head in a temple in Japan. |
“That’s how it kind of came up, they were like ‘Hey they are looking for music, do you guys have anything?’ And I kind of had this riff that came to me in a Temple in Japan. I was in this Temple and I heard this thing and we did a rough demo of it. We put it out there and we kind of did a rough recording of it and they liked it. So we’re getting it together and then other songs are coming together as well but it’s a slow process writing with all the shows we’re doing.” |
The first video for the movie will be ‘Signal Fire’ by Snow Patrol and the next video, which is currently in preproduction will be ‘Red River’ by The Walkmen. Spider-man 3, which once again stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst will be released on May 4th and the soundtrack for the film will hit streets May 1st on Warner Brothers Records. |
