WOLFMOTHER DEBUTS NEW MATERIAL
Wolfmother has debuted four new songs expected to be on it’s forthcoming sophomore effort, and Andrew Stockdale says expect growth. |
Wolfmother debuted four new songs during a performance at the Gallery Of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia earlier this month (April 14). The sold out show blew the roof off and gave fans a glimpse into where the band is going following up their smash debut CD. |
When discussing where the band wants to be creatively with the album, vocalist/guitarist Andrew Stockdale said he’d like to make something as good as “Woman.” On the flip side though, he wants to be able to be truthful and real about where he is and the range of emotions in life. |
“I feel like a lot of rock and roll sounds like dudes doing push-ups in their bedroom. It’s like, ‘I’ve got to keep going, I’ve just got to keep doing it, I just have to keep banging my head against the wall,’ and it’s like, ‘Yeah, that’s cool. I get it. You’re really intense and you really believe in your intensity and you want everyone else to believe in your intensity. But don’t you just ever dream? Haven’t you ever fallen in love? Didn’t you ever go down to a park and just look at a tree, or didn’t you ever get depressed, or does everything have to be so anger driven?’ And if it is, like, man you’re going to change. In a few years time you won’t be angry. Hell, you might well even be conservative. You might be whatever. I try to look at music in terms of emotions in life.” |
Wolfmother have a few shows lined up for 2008, but mostly they’ll be working on their forthcoming album, which insiders say could be done by Christmas. |
