WILMER VALDERRAMA ATTACHES FACE TO ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
That 70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama gets serious in Fast Food Nation as an illegal Mexican immigrant working in the slaughterhouse that provides the meat for Mickey’s Burgers. The Venezuelan born actor is excited that director Richard Linklater is putting a face on their plight to educate America about what it’s really like for them in the work force. |
Wilmer filmed all of his scenes in an actual slaughterhouse which he described as hell. |
“The fact that Richard has been able to capture really what it’s like. I mean walking that desert in Mexico and getting into the back of that van and talking to Luiz Guzman about it. We both looked at each other and said, ‘wow what a powerful statement,’ and really the first time that America is gonna get to see in the mainstream how it really is. It’ll awaken a more certain awareness of what immigrants go through and the types of jobs that have to settle with in order to create a future.” |
Next in his career Wilmer plans on shooting Chips sometime next year and gearing up for the third season of MTV’s Yo Mama which is shooting in Atlanta. But most importantly in January he’ll be visiting the troops in Germany. |
“The jobs are in description really are the worst jobs in America. Walking in and getting dressed and getting to see really the glimpse of hell was one of the most powerful and most riveting and more awakening moments of my career.” |
