WILLIAM HURT IN TOYLAND
William Hurt stars in the story Battleground, part of the eight hour series from Stephen King’s Nightmares and Dreamscapes adapted to the small screen for TNT. Hurt who has played a hit man before in A History of Violence, plays a hired killer in King’s story who murders a toy company owner, whose toys come to life and seek revenge on him. Hurt talks about acting opposite toys that come alive. |
Hurt says you have to suspend belief to get into the horrific mind of Stephen King and his bizarre happenings. |
“It is a scene between living beings. Since I play characters it is not me up there. I’m always creating something anyway. Ryan understands that because he works with toys, and he works with puppets which is what actors really do is they create characters that are like toys. I mean, they’re constructions.” |
Other Stephen King short stories appearing in the four week television event Nightmares and Dreamscapes include The End of the Whole Mess, Crouch End, The Road Virus Heads North, The Fifth Quarter, Autopsy Room Four, and You Know They Got a Hell Of A Band. Battleground airs tomorrow at 9PM on TNT. |
“You have to wish to go to these places and if you do go where your imagination would like to go it is naturally horrified by bestial human behavior.” |
