WILL ARNETT AND WILL FORTE LEARN PARENTING SKILLS
As the Solomon Brothers Will Arnett and Will Forte have to take a crash course in parenting to ready themselves for their bundle of joy. |
Happiness takes a back seat to the skills they must acquire using a baby doll for practice. Will Forte is glad he wasn’t working with a real baby on the set. |
“I’ll tell ya, even taking care of a doll is hard on a movie set. It’s weird because you start to treat this little baby doll as a living being and oh my God when it’s the real thing it’s gonna be tough. In the movie my character tries to prepare him for any eventualities so I end up stuffing the diaper with lots of really random things such as five dollars worth of quarters, chicken nuggets, like some popcorn and a dead bird. Just combos that you might not expect to see how he would deal with that. You’ve got to be prepared.” |
Forte and Arnett don’t have children in real life but they’ve discovered the essential qualities that make up being a good parent through taking care of a doll baby in the film. |
“I think to be a good parent. I actually just watched Kramer vs. Kramer over the weekend and that taught me that lesson too. Thirty years after it was made. It was great. As a good parent you have to let your child learn. You got to give ‘em room. Give them the perfect amount of space but also you need to control a little bit. Let ‘em do his own thing but your hands are on his shoulders or her shoulders the entire time.” |
The Brothers Solomon is currently playing in theaters. |
