WHY DID I GET MARRIED HAS BOX OFFICE HONEYMOON
Why Did I Get Married, the perfect film for warring couples is number one at the box office. |
Why Did I Get Married had their honeymoon at the box office this weekend as the runaway hit earned $21.5 million over $11 million dollar earners The Game Plan and Michael Clayton. Written and directed by Tyler Perry it tells the story of eight married college couples who think they’re on vacation in Colorado when their retreat turns into a marathon therapy session. |
Janet Jackson stars as a psychologist married to her architect husband played by Malik Yoba. Janet who’s tied the knot a few times and Perry who has never taken the plunge talk about why marriage is still important. |
“I think that marriage is very, very important especially to family. I think that if we were to get back to what we used to be in days of old we wouldn’t be having a lot of the issues that we have now with our children. It’s a little different for me. I’ve been married twice and divorced twice. I think just having that spiritual connection and finding your soul mate and exchanging vows, for myself that’s good. It’s a work in progress. It’s nothing that’s easy and if the love is really there you’ll work at it.” |
Ironically the cast didn’t take Tyler’s movie about marriage to heart as the film’s stars Jill Scott, Malik Yoba and Tasha Smith were going through divorces during the shoot. |
