WETA WIZARDS BEHIND BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA
WETA Workshop created all the magical beings for Bridge to Terabithia. |
Special effects wizards from Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia and King Kong are behind the wondrous creatures in Bridge to Terabithia, the story of two friends who cross a river and discover a whole new world there. |
Richard Taylor from WETA workshop talks about creating giants, trolls and other magical beings for the film. |
“The opportunity to explore that wonderful world across the brook underneath the trees and meet and discover these wild and crazy creatures in this faraway place will create very beautiful cinema and give an audience an opportunity to explore and discover along with the children.” |
Richard is pleased to contribute WETA’s work to a story that will delight audiences of all ages. |
“This incredible story comes around so rarely, the celebration of childhood spirit. The level of subtle interplay between the real world and the finely crafted but fantasy world will be such an important role but one that ultimately is played out by the performers, the director and the effects work that will be added into the film I think ultimately will make a very memorable and beautiful movie for children and audiences the world over to see.” |
Taylor and company won the Oscar last year for achievement in visual effects for King Kong. WETA recently brought killer sheep to life with animatronics puppetry and other trickery in Black Sheep. |
