WESTSIDE CONNECTION ON INDEFINITE HIATUS
(VIDEO) Westside Connection may reunite one day……. |
The Westside Connection, which is made up of Ice Cube, WC, and Mack 10, was one of the west coast’s supergroups. But rumors have been circulating that the group has broken up since they canceled a scheduled performance on The Jimmy Kimmel show in January of 2004. |
Group member WC explained that as is the case with other groups, it was just time for people to focus on their solo projects. He said, |
“Well you know it ain’t so much that the Westside Connect broke up. I’mma be real with it. It’s just that, you know what I’m sayin’, we’ve been around for awhile. Even though we only put out two albums, we’ve been working with each other for a long time. And you know it just got to the point where mother****ers wasn’t seeing eye to eye on certain things. All bull**** aside I’m just being real and it was just time for everybody to go and do their own thing. You know Mack went and dropped an album, his solo album. Cube dropped his solo album. WC is about to come in a minute with his solo album. So you know what I’m sayin’ far as the future it could be another Westside Connection. But that’s why you don’t hear us out in public like, ‘Ah f**k that n***a! This n***a I don’t get along with him and womp, womp.’ I’m here supporting Cube. If I see Mack out in public or whatever, ‘What’s up homie.’ It’s all gravy.” |
The Westside Connection released its debut set, Bow Down, in 1996. The set was certified-platinum for sales of a million copies. The group released its gold-certified sophomore project, Terrorists Threats, in 2003. |
