WE THE KINGS ON WARPED
We The Kings learned a lot about other bands and themselves on the Warped Tour. |
We The Kings released their self-titled album this past October and are currently out on the road with the Vans Warped Tour. The band talked about how they felt that the warped tour was like a “summer camp” where they got to meet a bunch of new bands and hang out with guys they were already friends with. |
We asked Travis and Danny what their favorite part of Warped was. |
“I would definitely say that it’s, well, it’s essentially it’s like a giant band summer camp. So like all of our friends that we toured with in the past are here, on tour, and all new bands that we’ve never even heard of are here, so we get to meet them, and then bands that we’re influenced by are here, so it’s like sweet.” |
Travis also mentioned how being on tour affected the band’s friendships in positive ways in that they become more like brothers. |
“Just you become more brothers than friends. It’s actually nice. You learn more and more about, when you like live with somebody, it could be anybody, you learn more about them, but when you’re with them like 24/7, it’s like, it’s just like a real brother or like a family member.” [Travis continues] “It becomes more of a family and that’s I guess the best way to put it.” |
After finishing up with the Warped Tour, the band will start touring Europe with The Academy Is… and The Maine in the middle of September. For more information check out myspace/wethekings |
