Although Gov’t Mule have been around for over a decade and the lineup has changed since the original power trio of Warren Haynes, Allen Woody and Matt Abts, the band has released ‘High and Mighty’ and Haynes feels this is the bands best work as of yet. On the bands last album ‘Deja Voodoo’ the band enhanced their sound with addition of Danny Louis on keyboards and bassist Andy Hess. We caught up with Warren Haynes at 2006 Farm Aid benefit to talk about his views on ‘High and Mighty’ and how far the bands sound has come since the beginning. |
Warren Haynes and Gov’t Mule are out on the road in support of ‘High and Mighty’ with Donavon Frankenreiter and the tour will last until December 9th at the Riviera in Chicago, Illinois. Warren Haynes will also be making an appearance at the Bob Dylan tribute November 9th at the Lincoln Center in New York.Gov’t Mule has also announced their annual New Years Beacon run. This year the band is calling it ‘The Dub Side of the Mule’ and performance dates include December 29th, 30th and 31st at New Yorks famed Beacon Theater. (Pictured Warren Haynes photo Brian Miller) |
“Yeah our first record was in 1995 and the band has grown a lot since then. The newest record I think probably utilizes more of our influences than any record to date. I’m very happy with the new lineup and ‘High and Mighty’ is possibly the best record we’ve done and I feel very strongly about it.” rn |
