Artisan News caught up with Kevin Lyman to get his thoughts on finally finishing “Endless Bummer” and how excited he is for the release of the soundtrack. |
“Eight years ago we were sitting right here at Eric Ericcson’s on the pier right here and my friend J.D. was telling me about a story in 1983 how he lost his surf board and how he had to go on an adventure to get it and I said that’s not the Endless Summer, that’s the Endless Bummer. Seems like yesterday but it’s been long. The movie has sometimes been an endless bummer, but it’s coming out tonight. It’s a great little sound track. Friends of mine who were in the movie like Lee Ving and Joan Jett who had a nice part in it and Keith Morris did a little cameo from The Circle Jerks and the sound track I think is really cool because you have artists like Katy Perry and Pennywise and Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker covering Iggy Pop and Joan Jett covering The Missing Persons in the movie. So, the sound track’s great.” |
The movie soundtrack includes classics like, “Pass the Dutchie,” performed by The Aggrolites featuring General Smiley, The Dollyrots remaking “Bad Reputation” (the anthemic Joan Jett and the Blackhearts original), and “Use Your Love,” performed by Katy Perry. The Endless Bummer film soundtrack hits stores June 23 on Blackheart Records. |
