WARPED TOUR LOS ANGELES: HALFWAY REPORT
(VIDEO) Thursday and Underoath check in with us at the halfway point of Warped To let us know how things are going. |
Underoath and Thursday are a few of the bands thriving on this year’s Warped Tour. The two are amongst a core of bands including Motion City Soundtrack, Rise Against, Patent Pending, Saosin, and a slew of others. |
While some have lamented AFI’s absence on both coasts, many concertgoers seem to be fans of the tour itself. Motion City Sountrack bassist Matthew Taylor says that the gig is going great for them. |
“Yeah, it really has. I was just looking through the Warped book two or three days ago, which came out in 2002, and it was kind of a chroncling of the Warped Tour since the beginning and they started out with like two stages. And you walk around here and there are so many stages, you don’t know which band to watch. It’s overwhelming. There’s so much going on. In that respect it’s really grown a lot and just the level of bands. There’s so many different bands now, and the fans are crazy and they’re into everything, it seems like, which is really cool.” |
Thursday’s Andrew Everding and Steve Pedulla said that the tour has been grueling but fun thus far. |
[Everding] “Well Warped is extremely grueling, and it’s a long hot tour. It’s like we’ll probably do a headlining tour in the fall and that’s probably half the amount of shows of Warped. We’re just at the halfway point of the tour, which is about 24 or 25 shows. 50 shows in 60 days, it’s pretty insane.” [Pedulla] “It’s a lot of fun. We’re having a really great time.” [Everding] “Yeah, we’re having a lot of fun.” |
Thursday is supporting City By The Light Divided and Motion City Soundtrack recently re-released their CD Commit This To Memory with a DVD movie titled, Hooray For The Madness. The band has been championed by former Blink-182 member Mark Hoppus. |
Warped Tour wraps up August 13 in Montreal. |
