VOLETTA WALLACE TO RELEASE BOOK ABOUT HER SON
Voletta Wallace knows her son Christopher Wallace and in the movie Notorious she knew instantly that Jamal Woolard was the Notorious BIG. |
Voletta Wallace, the mother of the late Notorious B.I.G., will release her memoir, Biggie: Voletta Wallace Remembers Her Son, on October 25th. In the years since her son’s murder, Wallace has started a foundation in her son’s name and filed a multi-million dollar wrongful death lawsuit against the Los Angeles Police Department. Throughout this time, Wallace has been relatively silent about her son’s former friends. But in the new book, Wallace takes aim at Sean “Diddy” Combs and Lil’ Kim. She accuses both of exploiting her son’s memory to further their own careers. Wallace said of Combs, “I believe Sean loved my son — after he was dead. I used to tell Christopher all the time not to trust Sean.” |
Wallace hasn’t back down from her statements but she believes a read of the book will put them in context. She explained, |
“Well the book was a long time coming. I’ve been writing for a very very long time ever since I was in college. But after my son passed away, I’ve been jotting little things, taking little things down and I was approached by Simon and Shuster. I felt that my story deserved to be told. I think it was time coming. You know you might think I dog a lot of people but I don’t look at it that way. It’s a very honest book. It’s my story. It’s the way I see it. It’s the way I felt and it’s a good read. I’m looking forward to having it be a Lifetime movie.” |
