VIOLENCE ERUPTS AFTER JIM JONES PERFORMANCE CANCELLED

The Diplomats’ Jim Jones was scheduled to perform at the Tralf nightclub in Buffalo, New York, on Sunday May 21st, but when the show was cancelled violence erupted. The incident began when fans were turned away from the venue. The club’s owner, Rohit Kapoor, said, “There were probably about a thousand to 1,500 people waiting to get into the club that couldn’t get in.” |
As the violence escalated, officers were called in to calm the crowd. A female officer was struck in the back of the head. She was treated for swelling and a cut and released from a local hospital. |
“I love my hood. I love my community. That’s all I got. I mean you know at the end of day I feel better when I’m in the hood then anyplace else in the world. I keep it like that.” |
The man, who struck the officer, David Jones, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration. After his arrest, officers discovered that the alleged attacker had been stabbed in his side. The wound was non life-threatening. |
Jones couldn’t have been happy about the incident as he prides himself on his community involvement and staying connected to the streets. He said, |
