VINNIE JONES SIZES UP STEVE AUSTIN
Vinnie Jones stars in The Condemned as a member of the British special forces sentenced to death row until he becomes part of a reality show special, and given an opportunity to avoid his sentence. The cliff hanger is he has a bomb strapped around his ankle that will blow in 30 hours. |
Jones, a former soccer player who made his mark in Guy Ritchie’s Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels talks about WWE’s Stone Cold Steve Austin, also a prisoner on the island. |
“You know I’m very impressed with how he’s adjusted to the films. His first movie I mean, his looks and his timing. He’s fantastic. I mean I’m lucky, I think I’ve got a screen presence and Steve sure does got that so I think this will be the first of many films.” |
Vinnie says it doesn’t matter if you’re a soccer player or a wrestler, making movies is all about entertainment. He weighs in on Austin’s debut. |
“From what I’ve seen I would say ten out of ten. What I think he learned very early on was he’s been in this entertainment business for a long time and that’s what it is, and he’s going there. WWE is what it is, it’s brutal, it’s full on, it’s what the fans want to see. And that’s what making a movie is. It’s entertainment.” |
Vinnie makes a cameo appearance as himself on the WWE wrestling video No Way Out featuring Stone Cold, and John Cena who most recently made his move to acting in The Marine. |
