VELVET REVOLVER NOT BROKEN UP, DUFF REFUTES RUMORS
(VIDEO) Velvet Revolver is not broken up, says bassist Duff McKagan, who refutes recent rumors floating around the Internet… |
Rumors surrounding the demise of Velvet Revolver are false, according to the band’s bassist Duff McKagan. The band has started work on their new album, the follow-up to their highly successful debut titled Contraband. The all-star band features ex-Guns N’ Roses members McKagan, Matt Sorum, and Slash paired with ex-Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland. |
McKagan gave a sneak peak at what the band has been up to. |
“Uh, you know we’re just kind of in the middle of the whole thing. The songs are written, we’ve recorded stuff, we’re going to continue recording.” |
When asked how the rumors started, the bassist had his theory. |
“There was obviously some sort of catalyst for the first rumor. I don’t know. I mean it’s rock and roll. There’s nothing that’s really safe, and with the internet it’s like once something gets started… I’ve seen all kinds of stuff. I was in rehab last week in Washington. Actually, I was in Seattle with my wife and kids on their spring break, but it was on the internet that I was in rehab in Washington State.” |
Meanwhile, fans should expect a Velvet Revolver album by the end of 2006 or early 2007. |
