Vegoose has put together another incredible lineup of todays hottest bands and the festival, which is in it’s second year, will once again take place Halloween weekend October 28th and 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada. AC Entertainment and Superfly Productions will look to build not only upon on their tremendous success of Vegoose last year but also on the success of the last half decade at Bonnaroo. With a lineup that features many artists who have already performed at Bonnaroo, Vegoose 2006 will once again look to expand on an extremely diverse two day festival lineup coupled with a wide variety of late night shows held around the city. We caught up with Trey Anastasio, who has graced the stage at many Bonnaroo’s in the past and will bring his band back to Vegoose this year as well as performing with Phil Lesh, to discuss what he loves most about playing these festivals that bring together very eclectic line ups. |
We also caught up with Robert Randolph who is currently touring in support of his upcoming release ‘Colorblind’ to find out his thoughts on Vegoose last year and the fact he can’t wait to bring the love back again this year. |
“I expect to be walking around and come around the corner and see some band I’ve never heard of or a band I have heard of playing in a way I haven’t seen them play before. So, I think that’s the coolest thing about these festivals, the unexpected band.” |
Vegoose 2006 will be bringing together quite a range of musicians beginning with Saturdays lineup that features Tom Petty, The Killers, Mars Volta, Keller Williams, The Black Crowes, The Raconteurs, Damian Marley, Medeski Martin and Wood, Jurassic 5 and Cat Power. Sundays festival lineup includes Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh and Trey Anastacio, Fionna Apple, Ben Folds, G Love, The Rhythm Devils (featuring Mickey Hart, Bill Kruetzmann, Mike Gordon and Steve Kimmock), Gallactic, Built to Spill and Jenny Lewis and the Twins. |
“Bringing the love and bringing that kind of musical vibe to Vegas is going to be crazy, because A, it’s already Vegas and B, it’s Halloween and C you’ve got Vegoose going on, the musical festival. So, it’s going to be wild and we’re just coming to add what we can add, a little hot sauce here a little ketchup there, so that’s what we like to do.” |
Vegoose has once again left fans with multiple options on how to spend their ‘Vegas’ nights with a musicial lineup that kicks off Friday Night with Dave Mattews and Tim Reynolds and runs each night with choices like Damian Marley, Keller Williams, Trey and Robert Randolph, Trey and Phil, STS9, String Cheese Incident and concluding with Widespread Panic and The Meters on Monday October 30th. For those that missed the inaugural Vegoose in 2005, here’s a montage of some live performances featuring The Arcade Fire, Widespread Panic, Jack Johnson (dressed as Jimi Hendrix), Trey Anastasio and Phil Lesh.
