UNSIGNED BAND TV/TV GETTING THEIR BIG BREAK ON WARPED TOUR I

TV/TV talk about being asked to be on Warped Tour in 2009 even though they aren’t even signed to a label yet.

Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman has been bringing unsigned and unknown bands along on their Summer Punk Rock tour for the past 15 years and 2009 will be no different. One of the up and coming bands who will be on The Warped Tour’s 15th Anniversary tour in 2009 will be TV/TV, who have generated quite a buzz with their first single “Get it Get it.” Another sign Kevin Lyman is very impressed with the band was the fact he booked them for the entire tour, which is quite an accomplishment considering they aren’t even signed to a label yet.

We caught up with TV/TV just before performing at the 15th Anniversary Kick off party to get their thoughts on playing the entire Warped Tour this Summer as an unsigned band.

“Well we’re really really excited to be an unsigned band on Warped Tour because Warped Tour is really one of those things that really is a huge opportunity for bands like us and to be able to be unsigned in 2009 is really exciting and we’re pumped about it.”

TV/TV also talked about being handpicked by Kevin Lyman for Warped Tour 2009.

“From what I heard, he heard the CD and flipped out and called our manager and asked us to join the whole tour and we were very very excited.”

The Warped tour will begin June 26th in Pomona, California and end August 23rd in Carson, California, wrapping around America bringing fans such acts as NOFX, Bad Religion, Chiodos, Fishbone, Less than Jake, Flogging Molly and Underoath to name just a small sampling.
