UNDEROATH TO LEAK LISTENERS: THAT ISN’T OUR ALBUM
(VIDEO) Underoath has a message to those who think they heard their new effort, which was leaked… |
Underoath’s latest album, Define The Great Line, debuted at Number Two on the Billboard Album chart, selling almost 100,000 copies. The total might have been more, but the album was leaked to fans. |
Underoath said that the songs fans heard were in various stages of completion and were in no way representative of Define The Great Line. They said it leaked through their recording studio. |
“I don’t know what you’re talking about… (laughs). It was just… to make a long story short one of the studios that we recorded in there was a band that came in after we were done recording there, and they found a bunch of the song files. They weren’t mixed, they weren’t mastered, they were missing some guitar parts and keyboard stuff. They pretty much sound like crap and they took ’em.” |
They added that the leak was caused by one fan in a band who wanted the tracks for himself. |
“Pretty this one guy was like, ‘Hey I want to have them for myself,’ and then his friend was like, ‘Hey, let me borrow it,’ and next thing you know… everyone got it. They told two friends times a googleplex, and now you have what you have. It’s not so bad because the songs sound so bad, becuase they’re not mixed, not mastered, and they’re missing stuff so it’s not like the whole record got out.” |
Underoath is currently on the Warped tour, and after in September, they’ll tour Central and South America, including Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Columbia, Chile and Brazil. |
