UGK HOOKS UP WITH OUTKAST FOR NEW SINGLE
UGK hooks up with Outkast for “International Player’s Anthem”…. |
Port Arthur, Texas-based rap duo UGK will release their highly anticipated self-titled double album in August. The duo recently released the new single and video, “International Player’s Anthem” featuring OutKast, which was produced by Three 6 Mafia. The song’s video features cameos by Three 6 Mafia, T-Pain, Big Gipp, Khujo, Chamillionaire, David Banner, Farnsworth Bentley, Bryan Barber, Deray Davis, Bishop Don Magic Juan and Alex Thomas. |
The new album will be the group’s last under their current contract with Jive Records. Group member Bun B explained that the group was still open to doing more work with the label but under their own terms. He said, |
“As far as Jive is concerned, it’s not that we are close to doing another album with them. We would love to do another album with Jive. Of course they have the outlets, you know what I’m sayin’? They definitely have the monetary resources and the media resources to take us to that other level. It’s all about the committment that they’re willing to make to this project. If they’re willing to finally take that big push that we’ve always wanted on our terms with our music, you know what I’m sayin’? The way we want to be represented then I don’t see any reason why we couldn’t go ahead and fulfill our contractual obligations and even do more albums with Jive Records. I mean it’s plain as day now that everything we’ve been saying people will buy into, people are buying into. So if they can finally respect what we’ve been saying for years and give us our freedom to do it our own way then of course we’ll do that and more.” |
