At the Grammy Awards, held in Los Angeles last week, Mary J. Blige joined with U2 for a performance of the band’s classic hit, “One.” The soulful singer revealed that the award show was not the first performance of the song. |
Blige actually had the track with U2 on her album, The Breakthrough, and she said that anytime the duet is done live, it’s a popular performance. |
“I’ve done some shows with them, and the song is incredible. We get… I’m getting so much incredible feedback about this particular track on the album, and when I did perform with them when they were on tour they came to Madison Square Garden and so we had to do it again becuase they loved it. Their audience loved it. It feels good to just come to the Grammys and just perform and enjoy your night and just kinda relax and party with everyone. It’s just a good feeling when there’s no work involved.” |
Mary J. Blige is tearing up the chart with her song, “Be Without You.” After the Grammys, U2 went right back to work, rehearsing for the start of their Vertigo ’06 tour in Mexico. |
