TWISTA DROPPED FROM TOUR
Twista dropped from McDonald’s tour because of lyrics….. |
Chicago-based rapper Twista was scheduled to perform as part of McDonald’s 10-city parking lot tour but the company has dropped the rapper from the tour because of his “controversial lyrics.” McDonald’s USA said in a released statement, “Although we respect free speech and artistic expression, we do not condone or perpetuate derogatory language. We want to ensure these free concerts are fun as well as appropriate for all of our customers.” |
To corporate sponsors Twista may seem like the bad guy but in rap circles he’s one of the good guys. Recently the rapper shared that veteran rappers haven’t done a good job teaching the new generation. He said, |
“What we missed too with the youngins, not just in life but in hip hop, we talked but we didn’t do a hell of job on teaching them how to represent hip hop as much as we did. So without criticizing the youngins too hard on being vocal and saying certain things to them we got to criticize ourselves a little bit on how we talk. Sometimes we was a little raunchy and we swayed more to the party side or the myself side then the giving side and teaching side, you know what I’m sayin’? So we got to look at ourselves a little bit when it come to teaching man. If we taught a little better than the guys that we got out there, I think they would be representing a little better and a little more vocal you know.” |
Twista will release his new album, Adrenaline Rush 2007, on September 18th. The latest single from the project is “Give It Up” featuring Pharrell Williams. The album also feature collaborations with Kanye West, R. Kelly, T-Pain, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. |
