Chicago-based rapper Twista is back with a new album, Adrenaline Rush 2007, which he will release in August. The first single from the project is “Give It Up” featuring Pharrell Williams. Twista and Pharrell recently shot a video for the song in Miami with director Hype Williams. drenaline Rush 2007 features guest appearances by Cee-Lo, Jazze Pha, R. Kelly, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and the Speedknot Mobstaz. |
The album borrows its name from Twista’s debut album, Adrenaline Rush, which he released in 1997. The rapper explained why he decided to title the new album Adrenaline Rush 2007. He said, |
“Taking people like back to that sound, you know, I wanted to give them that sound again. I know how a lot of people think like too like, ‘Man that’s a classic. You don’t touch that or you don’t do this.’ I wasn’t worried about that cause I don’t feel like I lost that I type of step, you know what I’m sayin’? I felt like I was still doing what I’m doing. It’s one thing like for an athlete to not try a certain thing or do a certain thing cause they know they done age but me it’s just music. I’m doing what I do you know I still can pop it off. So once the fans started to question me and I came out with The Day After and like some of the songs that I had made for the streets got excluded a little bit. Then that kind of like upset me, I was like, ‘Okay what ya’ll doubting Twista, what, what!’ So I did what I did. I had to go back and let them know it’s still me to the fullest. So I just revisited that sound really for the true Twista fan. |
The rapper’s last release was 2005’s gold-certified The Day After. |
