TWISTA A PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY?
Chicago-based rapper Twista and Chicago mayor Richard Daley will both get to play principal for a day when they host the 9th Annual Principal for a Day event at Chicago’s Choir Academy Charter School on October 27th. The event is part of the Chicago’s school system initiative to promote the importance of education and pursuing one’s dreams. |
Twista explained the importance of getting a good education. He said, |
“Going to the radio station and somebody ask you, ‘Here do these drops,’ and there’s a bunch of people standing around you and you got to sit there and read it all off, you know what I’m sayin’? Or you getting asked a question or you having to add up your money or, ‘Man you know that was three shows I gave you thirty five. Now you remember the fifteen you took off the first time, so you straight right?’ You know what I’m sayin, you not being able to count your money, all that stuff, you know what I’m sayin’? You not being smart or not going to school will definitely affect your rap career. You won’t make no money.” |
Twista’s latest album, The Day After, is in stores now. The latest single from the project is “Girl Tonite” featuring Trey Songz. |
