TUPAC SHAKUR 35TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION IN THE WORKS

(VIDEO) Friends and family of Tupac Shakur planning special benefit birthday party in Las Vegas……

Tupac Shakur would have turned 35 on June 16th and in honor of the slain rapper’s birthday, his family and friends are planning a benefit bash in Las Vegas. The rapper’s step-brother Mopreme Shakur explained that the proceeds from the event would benefit Dr. Mutula Shakur’s legal defense. He said,

Tupac was shot in Las Vegas, Nevada in early September 1996. The rapper survived six days before succumbing to his gunshot wounds on September 13th at the age of 25. His murder remains unsolved and over the years several theories have surfaced including that he was murdered in retaliation for his role in jumping a gang member earlier that evening. Another is that the Notorious B.I.G order his death because of their well publicized beef and finally that Suge Knight may have been involved because he feared that Shakur would soon leave the label.

“Organizing a benefit slash birthday party at the Aladdin, June 16th, Las Vegas. Thug Life, me and Big Syke, Outlawz, trying to get the Federation involved, you know what I mean? Trying to raise money to help my father’s case, Dr. Mutula Shakur, you know what I’m sayin’? For all the political prisoners, you know what I’m sayin’, we still trying to do it.”

Since his death, Shakur has released several platinum albums including:Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory (1996), R U Still Down? (Remember Me) (1997), Still I Rise (1999), Until the End of Time (2001), Better Dayz (2002) and Loyal to the Game (2004) which was produced entirely by Eminem.

There’s one more album of original material slated for release later this year.

The rapper’s estate has earned an estimated $40 million since his death.
