TRIVIUM DISCUSS SHOGUN SPECIAL EDITION, LOOK AHEAD TO NEXT ALBUM
Trivium discuss the special edition release of “Shogun” and they reveal they are currently working on their follow up album |
Having released their latest album “Shogun” in 2008, Trivium also released a special edition CD/DVD package which features behind the scenes footage of the making of the album along with Shogun: The Riffs, which is an instructional videos for guitar and bass. The album, which is the bands fourth studio album, debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Chart at #23, #6 on the Japanese international charts, #4 on the Canadian Hard Rock Charts, #1 on the UK rock charts. Trivium worked hard on “Shogun” and the band isn’t resting on their success as they are already working on their follow up album, which the band hopes to release in the next year. |
We caught up with Trivium at the Revolver Golden God Awards to get their thoughts on working hard on “Shogun” and why the next album will crush anything they’ve done in the past. |
“We wrote that for about a year, demoed it for six months, recorded it for six weeks, mixed it for six weeks and that one was really the fruit of our hard worked loins and our swollen blue balls. That’s what that produced. We’re currently writing for the next one but that won’t be coming out for about a year and a half but it’s going to crush everything we’ve ever done. Just like hopefully each record has done in the past. If you pick up the special edition of “Shogun” you get the whole making of the album and everything and you can see how it all goes down and see what’s what in the band and get to hang out with us for a good couple of months and see what it’s all about.” |
Trivium will be head-lining on the Jagermeister stage with All That Remains, God Forbid, and the Jagermeister Battle of the Bands winner of the 2009 summer Mayhem Festival which also features Slayer, Marilyn Manson and Bullet for My Valentine among many others. Tour dates kick off July 10th in Sacramento, Ca and extend until August 15th in Dallas, Tx. |
