Detroit-based rapper Trick Trick is currently putting the finishing touches on his new independent album, The Villain. After a brief stint on Universal Records, Trick Trick has decided to return to his indie roots but his gots some major guest on the project. The Villain will feature guest appearances by Eminem, Esham, Proof, and Kid Rock with production by Dr. Dre. |
Trick Trick’s album actually features the last verse Proof recorded before he was murdered in April of 2006. The verse is featured on the song, “Together Forever,” which is a remake of the Run-DMC classic. |
“That wasn’t my thing. I’ve always been in the streets but I’ve always managed to maintain and record a hit record. Consistentcy in the city, having records played on the radio. Once I got my first record on the radio, I was like I can get some more. So I would keep recording even if I didn’t have an album to deliver. I kept some heat in the streets with the deejays. You know I’ve always managed to get into a little bit of action that was publicized so that helped out a lot. But for the most part Em, you know whenever he would have certain situations, I would try to mediate them. The way I mediate a situation and make sure he was tight and taken cared of, and make sure that situation would just be over with. So he appreciated that. I held him down cause he was a down cat from Detroit, you know what I’m sayin’?” |
Trick Trick explained that while he didn’t battle and run in the same circles as Eminem and D12, he eventually befriended them by mediating a beef Eminem had. The rapper explained, |
