Every year at Bonnaroo, in a late night tent in the middle of a secluded farmland of tennessee, fans gear up for the annual Superjam where incredible musicians sit for extended jams, not even knowing who or what to expect. This year was no different as word soon spread like wild fire that Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon formerly of Phish and The Benevento/Russo Duo would be showcasing material from their upcoming summer tour together. We caught up with Mike Gordon at Bonnaroo to ask him to confirm the rumor that the Superjam would be a forshadowing of the quartets upcoming Summer tour. |
Trey and Mike and the Duo have announced a handful of shows supporting Phil Lesh and Friends. Included in the run are two festival dates, the Allgood Festival in West Virginia on July 14th and the previously announced 10,000 Lakes Festival in Minnesota on July 22. In between, the quartet will hit Atlanta, Nashville, Toronto, Cleveland and Chicago. |
“There is a rumor, yes and it’s more than a rumor. I think it was leaked and now we’re helping the leak along. We have a new sort of situation going this summer with Trey and I and the Benevento/Russo Duo who I’ve been playing with anyway. So, our first trying out of the new material is going to be late night tonight.” |
