TREAT WILLIAMS SECOND CHANCE IN HEARTLAND

Treat Williams stars as an organ transplant surgeon in Heartland.

Treat Williams stars in TNT’s new original dramatic series Heartland as an organ-transplant surgeon who takes risks other doctors wouldn’t in order to save the lives of his patients.

Treat says he was attracted to the concept of saving lives and being given a second chance.

“These guys I think are also action junkies. I think that when you bring somebody in and there’s a chance to save a life, remove a heart from one person who’s just lost their life into someone who’s about to lose theirs and give them a second chance. You talk about doctors and surgeons playing God but if that ever got close to that metaphor this is it because they actually are able to extend these people’s lives with these transplants. I’m really fascinated by that and in terms of this type of work he’s the best there is.”

Heartland marks Treat’s second foray into playing doctor. He most recently starred as a city brain surgeon who moves his practice to a small country town in Everwood. On tonight’s episode Williams’ Dr. Grant saves a six month old baby dying of a rare heart defect airing 10PM on TNT.
