TOOL FRONTMAN MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN MAKES REVEALING WINE MOVIE
Tool and A Perfect Circle frontman, Mayard James Keenan, is profiled in a movie about overcoming Arizona Stronghold wine making difficulties. |
Maynard James Keenan, vocalist for Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, will make an appearance on the silver screen. Keenan and winemaking partner Ed Glomski joined with Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke of the Twinkle Cash production company for the film “Blood Into Wine.” The movie takes a look at the winemaking potential of Arizona and also the motivation of Maynard to embark on such a difficult task. It also explores how winemaking fits into his creative endeavors. The movie is set to be completed this September, and will have a limited theatrical release in February and March of 2010. |
In an excerpt from the movie, Maynard talks about the space it takes to grow grapes for the wine. |
“No one in their right mind would plant a vineyard that’s less than six acres because financially it’s just as easy to farm 100 acres as it is to farm ten acres. So, to farm half an acre is just kind of silly (laughs).” |
The complete trailer from “Blood Into Wine” is available at twinklecashcompany.com. The film will feature an accompanying soundtrack featuring some never-before-released music from Keenan. |
