TOM MORELLO NOT AN AUDIOSLAVE TO GUITAR TECHNIQUES OR SOUNDS
Tom Morello guitarist for Audioslave and former axeman for Rage Against The Machine is one of the most respected modern guitarists. He’s probably one of the most innovative players of the modern generation, but he said his style is more about creativity than sound. |
He said that many people think that he gets his sound from tons of effects pedals and lots of outside help, but he freely admitted to us that most garage bands have more gear than he does. |
“One of the things people are mistaken about is they think I’ve got, like, complicated gear. I’ve got the simplest — I defy YOU in your garage band right now, I bet you’ve got more gear. It’s a simple 50 watt half-stack and a couple of pedals that I’ve had for about fifteen years. But the thing is the electric guitar is like a…it’s a relatively new instrument on the planet, and I don’t believe its possibilities have even begun to be tapped out.” |
Fans can catch Audioslave live on tour as they’re out on the road until November 19, winding down in Las Vegas. The band is in support of their album Out Of Exile as well as a DVD of their performance, the first ever by an American rock band, in Cuba. |
