Todd Allen stars in Broken Trail as the town Marshall Bill Miller. Set in the year 1897 Todd says he could’ve been a law man back in those days but it would’ve been hard to trade the luxuries he has now for roughing it. |
Texas born, Todd grew up on a ranch so it’s hard to take the cowboy out of him. He recalls a time when one of his trail rides intersected with a posse of escaped convicts. |
“It had to be hard to live then. Even when you’re making a western and you just go put the clothes on and get on a horse and do whatever you’re gonna do it’s difficult. You’re dirty, you’re filthy. If you really get it right you wouldn’t take a bath for a week at a time or a month at a time. It’s difficult. We had a nice shower and we’re happy. We came in a limo and it’s good.” |
Next Todd will star in yet another western The Hard Ride which is set in 1876 in Deadwood, Dakota Territory. Tonight is part two of Broken Trail at 8PM on AMC.rn |
“One time I actually did a trail ride in New Mexico, like 45 miles up into the mountains with just what we could carry on a pack horse. As luck would have it there was a prison break and five hardened killers escaped into the same area where we were so that’s my deal. We were all packing guns and everything we could get. We did not run into these guys thank goodness. We just drank a lot.” |
