TOBIN BELL BRINGS LIFE LESSONS TO KIDS
Here’s a tip for the Board of Education, have the Saw movies playing in the background and maybe students will learn something instead of falling asleep during class. |
That’s the philosophy from Tobin Bell, aka Jigsaw now starring in Saw IV who is amazed that amidst the horrific images shown, kids always seem to pick up underlying messages about survival of the fittest from the traps the victims must endure. |
“You know those kids some teacher could sit them in a classroom behind a desk and tell them not to move and say, ‘today we’re gonna talk about appreciating your blessings,’ and they’d be like, ‘oh God!’ For some reason because in Saw there’s so much energy and mayhem on going around that all of a sudden out of the blue comes this little message that comes through and that they remember. People learn different ways and the environment in which something gets said makes it resonate sometimes and then sometimes it just puts you to sleep so I find that fascinating.” |
There will be no dozing off in Saw IV which promises to deliver the same level of shock and awe as Saw III. Tobin says despite the ‘R’ rating, teenagers will be the first on line to witness Jigsaw back in action from beyond the grave. |
“That’s up to parents. Most 13 year-olds that I talk to and the ones that I know, their parents wouldn’t let them see it but many of them do. I always ask them, were you afraid, did it frighten you, did it scare you and generally their reaction is ‘nah.’ Not just, ‘well a little,’ or ‘no.’ They just kind of blow it off with a certain amount of bravado.” |
Saw IV once again directed by Darren Lynn Bousmann introduces a new FBI profiler played by The Gilmore Girls’ star Scott Patterson with returning cast members Costas Mandylor as Detective Hoffman, Lyriq Bent as SWAT Commander Rigg and Betsy Russell as Jigsaw’s wife. Saw IV opens Friday, October 26th nationwide. |
