TIMOTHY HUTTON HUNTS FOR GHOSTS
Timothy Hutton stars in The Last Mimzy based on the sci-fi short story by Lewis Padgett which tells the tale of two children who discover a mysterious box on the beach that they perceive as cool new toys. Parents Hutton and Richardson begin to notice odd and mystical things occurring with the new found gadgets that lead to higher intelligence levels in their 10 year-old son and five year-old daughter. |
Timothy can’t help but believe in other worldly phenomena because his mother was intrigued by ghost hunters who were convinced young Tim was a medium. |
“My mother was fascinated by a couple that had become kind of famous as ghost hunters. They were traveling around New England and they would go to houses and they would rid the house of ghosts. And she asked me to and my mother if I could come with them on the next ghost hunting thing. She thought I was a medium or something. She thought I was a conduit to the other world or whatever. And they would send me into the room and into these houses and they would say, ‘Tim just walk around and if you feel something strange let us know.’ So I’d walk around and say to them, ‘this is kind of strange. I think you should come here,’ and like that. After two times I said to my mother I didn’t want to do it anymore.” |
Timothy directed the music video for Hello I Love You, the The Last Mimzy theme song written and performed by Roger Waters with special guest singer, the film’s six year-old star Rhiannon Leigh Wryn. |
