TIM ALLEN CAN’T ESCAPE SANTA CLAUS
(VIDEO) Santa Claus 3 wasn’t the trilogy that Tim Allen was looking for but couldn’t pass up the new twist. |
Tim Allen was less than thrilled to spend over a month in four hours of daily make-up and get into the red fat suit for the third time around but a new twist on Old Saint Nick peaked his interest to make The Santa Clause 3:The Escape Clause. |
Tim’s pal Martin Short who worked with him in Jungle 2 Jungle is adding some yule-tide cheer as Jack Frost putting his own spin on Santa. |
“I really didn’t want to do another one of these unless it struck me and I said what would it be like without Santa Claus? What a weird mythology to not have in the world so that struck a chord. All of us said it would be A Wonderful Life and that’s what the idea is essentially what would happen if Santa weren’t around and things would be very different.” |
Also starring in Santa Clause 3 is Ann-Margaret and Alan Arkin playing Santa’s in-laws. Tim gave the director Michael Lembeck a fully dressed mold of Santa’s head as a wrap gift. The wig is made of real Alpaca hair and costs about twenty grand. Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause opens Friday in theaters.rnrn |
“Marty came in, he turns into Santa Claus, a version of which he morphs into Santa in his own way which is really fun. But he walked into my trailer and he was talking. I thought it was a double of me or something. He sat there for about 15 minutes and eventually he goes, ‘Tim it’s me Marty.’ I didn’t recognize him and then both of us sat there, ‘so this is what it’s come to. 50 year old men dressed like elves. We have laughed so hard that eventually the crew is tired of us. Everyone is tired of us. We of course think we’re the funniest things on the planet. It’s Pushy and Desperate the new comedy team. That’s what we’ve decided to call ourselves.” |
