TILDA SWINTON SWITCHES TO CORPORATE WITCH

Tilda Swinton plays a witchy attorney who commits heinous acts to win her case in Michael Clayton.

Tilda Swinton switches from the white witch in Chronicles of Narnia to a corporate witch playing a shady attorney in Michael Clayton.

When Tilda’s firm represents the interests of an eco chemical company being sued for poisoning it’s residents, her job is to win by any illegal means necessary.

“She’s a corporate criminal of a very ordinary kind. I think there are a lot of people in all sorts of high business situations who will sympathize with the kind of panic attack she has about ordering people dead where there are $3 billion dollars at stake.”

Tilda met with high powered female attorneys who enlightened her on the pressures they face.

“Particularly on a woman who’s got to this position. She’s been given this task to be tougher than any man might be because if she balks even for a second she’s gonna be accused of being some girl. So I think women in this kind of corporate world will sympathize.”

Tilda is playing another unsavory character in Julia, as a woman trying to extort money using a young boy as bait, a loose adaptation of John Cassavetes’ Gloria.
