T.I. tops album chart for the second consecutive time with new album, T.I. v T.I.P……

T.I.’s fifth album, T.I. v T.I.P., is his second consecutive album to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart. The new album sold over 468,000 copies its first week in stores to top the Billboard 200 albums chart. The only album that sold more copies its first week in stores this year was Linkin Park’s Minutes To Midnight.

T.I., who will be presenting at ESPN’s 2007 Espy Awards on Sunday, July 15th, got into an altercation with a fan on Wednesday night, July 11th, during a performance at a pre-Espy Awards party. After a fan allegedly threw something at the rapper, he dove into the crowd and attacked the fan with his microphone until security intervened.

“I think that this music has always been about what you can open you doors, walk outside, and see on the streets. And unless you gonna change what I see when I open my doors and go out on my streets, you can’t expect me to change what I say. Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m just telling you how it is.”

In related news, T.I. will be co-headlining the Screamfest Tour with Ciara. The tour kicks-off on August 3rd in New Orleans and will also feature T-Pain and Yung Joc.
