Thursday released their new album, A City By The Light Divided, on possibly the most popular release date of the year, May 2. The album is up against releases by Tool and Pearl Jam among a batch that also includes Jewel’s new effort. |
While the band isn’t expecting to be the top giants like Tool and Pearl Jam to topple, the said that the already competitive date could have been worse. |
“Yeah. Dude, and the thing is too, they had that date picked so long ago that it was like, ‘Nothing else is coming out.’ And then they were like, ‘Oh, Pearl Jam might put one out, and Tool, and everybody.’ At least we’re in good company, that’s the way I think of it. It’s like, wow, those bands are huge. Because initally we heard it was going to be emo holacaust day, and they were going to have everybody like from Dashboard and everybody else was going to come out on the same day, but actually it turned out to be Rock and Roll day….and Avacado Day.” |
Thursday’s first single from A City By The Light Divided is “Counting 4-3-2-1,” and the band is set to be one of the premier attractions on this year’s Warped tour, which kicks off June 15 in Columbia, Maryland. |
